Chinanews, March 15 - The latest statistics released by the Ministry of
Commerce on March 14th showed that 5,444 new companies with foreign
investment were approved during the first two months of 2005, a decline
of 9.02% year on year. Contracted foreign investment in China during this
period reached 20.052 billion US dollars and utilized foreign investment
reached .969 billion, increases of 6.15% and 8.21% year on year,
respectively.
By the end of February 2005, China has approved the establishment of
514,385 foreign-invested companies; contracted foreign investment has
reached 1,116.66 billion US dollars, while actual utilized foreign
investment has reached 570.069 billion US dollars.
